The King of Pop

June 29th, 2009

This last week was a sad one for me personally as well as the rest of the world. Not only did my dear friend Ed McMahon pass away, the undisputed King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed as well.

Michael was a great guy and the most amazing performer. He kept the world mesmerized with his dancing, fascinated by his personality, and singing along to his songs for the last thirty years. He will be sorely missed.

Here’s one of my favorite (and many of yours too probably) memories of Michael: the debut of the Moonwalk. Nobody else moves like that.

On the loss of Ed McMahon

June 29th, 2009

I know it’s been several days since my dear friend Ed left us, but I wanted to take some time to reflect on what he really meant to me.  Entertainment Tonight interviewed me just after I found out, and I wanted to make sure that I didn’t have anything else to say on the topic before posting something about it.  I decided that I had said everything I needed to say in that interview, which you can find below.

Ed was a great man and I admired and liked him very much.  I’ll miss you, pal.

Shark Diving and Shark Finning

June 12th, 2009

I know you’ve all probably seen the photos, but here’s the video we did just after we’d gone on that amazing dive at Shark Park in Rocky Bay, South Africa. We dove at in a place called Aliwal Shoals, which is one of the top 10 dive sites in the world and one of the best places to do a shark dive.Find more videos like this on HoffSpaceIt truly was one of the best experiences of my entire life and I urge you all to tell your friends about the horrors of Shark Finning. These animals are beautiful on film, but they’re even more beautiful when you’re with them in the water. They don’t deserve to be treated so cruelly and it’s up to all of us to stop it.DH

We had such a great time down there. I wanted to make sure to thank Mark Addison, who was our guide and organized the whole thing, Charlies Maxwell-our fearless underwater cameraman, and Nicholas Claxton of the the The Under Water Channel, the producer of the whole journey. Great job guys!

South Africa/Ireland Videos

June 9th, 2009

Ok all you Hoffspace guys and gals, for your viewing pleasure, we’re going to be putting up one new video a day until we run out of new videos! They’re all of my amazing trip to Ireland and South Africa, and we’re going to start with one from Dublin Castle!Find more videos like this on HoffSpaceThis place is incredible. There’s been a castle of some kind on the site since 930! Can you believe that? Everybody that’s ever been in the British Isles seems to have conquered this place at one point or another. It’s been Danish Viking, Norman, English, and now finally it’s Irish again. It’s right at the center of Dublin on a ridge. . .it’s a fantastic place full of amazing stories. If you get a chance, check it out!DH

Hey guys-

I know I already posted a video about these guys, but I thought it was important to get up these photos as well.

I can’t tell you how much it meant to me that these awesome guys (and gals) that have served in our military and helped make sure this country is safe wanted my autograph!

Wounded Warriors

I think honoring the men and women who serve our country is incredibly important, which is why I got involved with the Wounded Warriors Project. They’re a really really great organization and then men and women they help are incredibly grateful. Not only are they grateful; they are gracious and kind and full of life. Every single one of the servicemen and women involved have been badly wounded. Some have lost limbs, some have lost eyes. But they are glad to have served their nation and are glad that the people at Wounded Warriors have given them a voice. The organization’s motto is “The Greatest Casualty is Being Forgotten,” and through great charities like this, these people never will be.

Not only is a great organization, they threw one heck of a party at the Playboy Mansion. It certainly was “colorful” as promised.

Peach and respect,

The Hoff Dog

May 13th, 2009

Great news! We have found the dog! Though I would love to make a special trip to Engand just to say hello, it’s a little bit far at the moment and AGT (which is doing really well!) is keeping me in America. However, if I make it to Europe this summer (which I am hoping to do!) I will definitely attempt to meet my namesake.

As always on here Hoffspace, I want to hear from you. Do any of you have any heroic pets?
