David Hasselhoff to Perform In Space!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

We are really excited that David has been asked to perform a concert aboard the International Space Station. As the most watched TV star on earth, it was decided by NASA, in conjunction with MIR the Russian Space agency, that DH should also become the most watched TV star above earth. DH will launch from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Cannaveral in a rocket specially adapted for his 6′4″ frame in late June. He will dock with the ISS and perform a medley of his songs which will be specially televised all round the world. A spokeswoman for MIR, Dr Ovma Rokka, said, “This is very exciting. We are pleased to have Mr Hasselhoff on board the ISS.”

USA Today Article

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I got sent this article yesterday and I really liked it. It’s got some interesting facts in it and it’s a great read about the new game. It makes me feel really good to still be “in the game” (literally!).It’s on USAToday.com if you want to read the whole thing. The Hoff was not hassled at all when Atari chose to parody him in their new comic boxing video game, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution. In fact, after being approached by publisher Atari, Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is helping promote the game for Nintendo’s Wii (rated Teen, ages 13-up, $40) despite its less-than-flattering portrayal of him. “I just thought it was the funniest caricature I had ever seen,” Hasselhoff says. “My agents and manager said, ‘You can’t do this. This is demeaning. They have you overweight and you have a bra line.’ And I said, ‘Yes, I know. Isn’t it great?’ … Besides that, I get free Wiis for the family.”Free Wiis are fantastic! Many more interesting things to come in the weeks ahead!Love and respect,DH

More Atari Press!!

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Today there’s an article about Ready 2 Rumble on Yahoo. Man, there’s press about this everywhere! (Not that that’s a bad thing!)

Yahoo: The game’s really got this sense of humor, and the celebrity angle maybe makes it more mainstream.

Me: Videogames are bigger than major motion pictures. Major stars are involved in them – to be involved in one means you’re, quote-unquote, “still in the game.” How could I not do this? A, they’re going to do it without me anyway, because it’s a parody; and secondly, if you can’t make fun of yourself and have fun with your life and your character, the people that you create, if you don’t look at the positive side of all the negatives and all the paparazzi… You know, people are interested in knocking you out! It’s great. How many people are going to want to go up against Stallone and punch out Rocky? How many people are going to want to punch out Arnold Schwarzenegger for saying “Kaly-fornya”? How many people want to punch out The Hoff because they can? I got a lot of people out there that really like me, and a lot of people that I think are kind of jealous of my Baywatch days. And, you know, it’s fun. We played it in the mall yesterday and there were like 14 people in the mall, and I had them all playing the game, and they were yelling and screaming and applauding. It was a lot of fun.

Check out the Yahoo link at the top of the post if you want to read the whole thing; I’m sure you do!
